Walton is a big sweetheart with an even bigger heart. He’s a certified leaner who loves pets, cuddles, and being close to his humans. He’s convinced he’s a lap dog and loves sleeping in bed with his people, so be prepared to share your personal space! He also has a favorite blankie that he holds and gently sucks on at bedtime. When his humans come home, he may even greet them with an excited howl.

Walton enjoys two daily walks of about 20–30 minutes and does well with a predictable routine. He’s house-trained, knows his basic commands, and stays comfortably in his crate while his foster family is away. He also gets along wonderfully with his foster cat and has recently discovered how much fun it is to wrestle and play with his two-year-old canine foster brother. A compatible canine companion could be a great fit.

Walton is eager to learn, loves being told he’s a good boy, and truly wants to make his people happy. He’s still working on leash manners and polite greetings, as his excitement can sometimes lead to pulling and jumping up to meet people. He’s also learning that kitchen counters aren’t for snack shopping! Loud noises can make him nervous, so patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help him continue building confidence.

His strong interest in chasing chickens means a home with chickens or other small animals he might chase would not be suitable.

When Walton first arrived in his foster home, he was scared and unsure of himself. With patience, routine, and plenty of encouragement, he has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate boy who is discovering how wonderful being a beloved family dog can be. He’s ready for a family willing to continue helping him learn and grow, and in return, you’ll get a loyal companion, a big cuddle buddy, and a whole lot of love!

Could Walton be the big-hearted best friend you’ve been waiting for? 💙
