🐾 Meet Sullivan (aka Sully)! 🤍🧡 A handsome senior gentleman looking for a soft place to land and a heart to call his own!

Hello there! My name is Sullivan, but my friends call me Sully! I’m a big, beautiful, white-and-fluffy boy with gorgeous green eyes, a sweet pink nose, and an adorable orange-striped tail. At 10 years young, I’ve earned the right to enjoy the finer things in life, and I’m ready to find my home through the Senior for Senior Adoption Program! 🐾

My story began outdoors, but I’ve discovered that indoor life is pretty wonderful! Give me a cozy bed, a sunny spot to stretch out in, and a peaceful place to nap, and I’m one happy guy. I’m a gentle soul who appreciates the simple pleasures in life. I’ve been known to be a bit of a talker, too, so don’t be surprised if I have a few things to say!

I’m a little shy when meeting new people, so I’ll need a family who understands that good friendships take time. Let me settle in at my own pace, and you’ll discover the sweet gentleman hiding beneath my fluffy exterior. I’m also a social guy when it comes to other animals! I’m friendly with both cats and dogs and would love to have a furry roommate to share my sunny naps and cozy downtime with.Slows introductions are suggested to make everyone feel comfortable.

Now, I’ll be honest: I’m a big boy working on getting my figure back! My caregivers have me on a special weight-management routine of Purina Pro Plan Weight Management kibble, ¼ cup twice daily. I’m doing my part, and I’ll need my family to help me stay on track with my meals.

If you’re looking for a mellow, loving companion who has left his outdoor adventures behind and is ready to embrace the good life, I might just be your guy! A soft bed, a little sunshine, a patient human, and a home where I can feel safe and loved are all I need.

Could you be the one to give this devilishly handsome senior sweetheart his happily ever after? I have plenty of love left to give, and I’d be delighted to spend my golden years curled up somewhere cozy, right by your side. ❤️

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
