Hi! My name is Reggie, and I’m an adorable black-and-white tuxedo kitten about 4 months old. I came into rescue with my three siblings, and I’ve been patiently waiting for my forever family for a couple of months now. I’m hoping maybe that family is you! 🐾

I’m your typical happy, playful kitten. I love playing with my siblings, but I’m also perfectly capable of entertaining myself when everyone else is busy. Once playtime is over and I notice you settling in for the day, don’t be surprised if I come looking for a spot on your lap. I really enjoy being close to my humans and getting some good snuggle time in.

I’m also the kind of kitten who likes to know where my people are. If you’re home and I suddenly realize I can’t find you, I may wander around calling out until you answer me. I just like knowing where everybody is! ❤️

I love being petted, although sometimes I get a little too excited and give your fingers a playful nibble. I’m still young and learning my manners, and my foster mom says I’m a pretty quick learner.

Speaking of learning, I’m working on remembering that furniture isn’t for scratching. My foster mom has been redirecting and training me, and she thinks I’m catching on fast! I have cat towers available to me, but I’m honestly not that interested in using them as scratching posts. Give me a good piece of cardboard to scratch instead, and I’m a happy guy.

I’ve been waiting a while for someone to choose me, and I’m pretty excited about finally finding a home and humans of my very own. I have lots of kitten energy, plenty of personality, and an affectionate side that comes out when it’s time to relax.

If you’ve read this far, maybe there’s a reason. Perhaps I’m the little tuxedo guy you’ve been looking for. 🖤🤍

Love,
Reggie 🐾

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
