Hi there, I’m Little Moo! ❤️

I’m a beautiful girl with an adorable little beauty mark on my cheek. Think of it as my signature look! My story began when I was left in a carrier on someone’s front porch, with no contact information and no family coming forward to claim me. Thankfully, kind people took me in and cared for me before I made my way into foster care. It was a big change, and I needed a little time to settle in, but I’m already showing everyone what a sweet girl I can be!

When I first arrived at my foster home, I was quiet and preferred to observe from my hiding spots while I took everything in. But it didn’t take long for my brave side to shine! Now I’m approaching my foster humans to ask for pets, and my purr motor is running more and more. I’m a curious girl who likes to investigate what’s happening around me, though I sometimes take a moment to make sure new things are worth checking out.

I’m also discovering the joys of toys and learning that playtime can be lots of fun! When I’m not busy exploring, I have a soft spot for my foster humans’ laps. I’ll climb aboard and make the sweetest biscuits, as if I’m preparing the perfect little cuddle spot. I’m still figuring out the whole settling-in-for-snuggles part, but I’m making progress! One thing you should know: Churu isn’t really my thing, so we’ll have to discover another way to win my heart.

Sometimes I get a little carried away when I’m playing or enjoying pets, and I may give a gentle nibble when I’m feeling overstimulated. I’m learning my boundaries, and I’ll do best with someone who understands kitty body language and recognizes when I need a little break. With patience and gentle guidance, I can continue building confidence and learning all the wonderful things about being a cherished house kitty.

I’m looking for a loving home where I can continue to blossom, explore my world, enjoy playtime, and share my growing affection with my people. I’ve already come a long way in a short time, and I have so much more personality to share as I settle in!

Could you be the one to give this sweet little girl a place to call home? ❤️

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
