Meet Lieutenant! Small in size, mighty in the field!

Lieutenant is steadily coming out of her shell and discovering just how much fun life can be! This little girl is gaining confidence every day, and her playful personality is starting to shine.

When she’s not busy observing her surroundings, Lieutenant is ready to jump into action! She absolutely loves playing and wrestling with her littermates. Whether it’s a friendly wrestling match, a game of chase, or joining in on whatever mischief the crew has started, she’s proving she can hold her own with the rest of the squad!

Lieutenant is still building her confidence, so she’ll appreciate a family willing to give her the time and patience she needs to continue blossoming. With a little encouragement and lots of love, this girl is sure to keep coming out of her shell!

She’s a social little kitten with good litter box habits and is ready to report for duty in her forever home.

Her official orders: Play hard, wrestle often, and continue rising through the ranks of cuteness! Lieutenant is ready to take on her next big adventure.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
