Meet Crystal, a little bundle of pure kitten magic! ✨

Crystal is the perfect mix of independent, curious, playful, and cuddly. She’s the kind of kitten who wants to know what you’re doing at all times—if you’re moving, she’s probably following along to investigate! She’s also wonderfully affectionate and loves being close to her people.

Crystal is a typical playful kitten with plenty of energy. She’s often one of the first to investigate a new toy or explore a new corner of the house, and she’ll happily play right up until it’s time for a well-earned kitten nap. When she’s not busy having fun, she’s perfectly content to settle in and be near you.

When it comes to playtime, Crystal loves a good climbing tree and all kinds of cat toys. She enjoys catnip toys, but she especially likes toys that make her think, such as a ball-on-a-track toy. Give this clever girl something fun to explore and she’ll keep herself entertained!

Crystal has been introduced slowly to adult cats and dogs, and those introductions have gone smoothly and without incident. She’s curious and adaptable and should do well with continued thoughtful introductions in her forever home.

If you’re looking for a kitten who will keep you laughing with her playful antics, join you for whatever adventure you’re up to, and then curl up nearby when the fun is over, Crystal might be your girl! 💕

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
