The Story of Biscotti

In early December, a sweet little dog was found limping and injured at a home in rural Texas. His rescuer reached out to one of our Texas partners, who then contacted Ruff Start for help.
He was named Biscotti, and after a vet visit, it was discovered that he has a chronic dislocated right rear leg, fleas, hair matting, and heartworm disease.
Despite his rough start, Biscotti, only one year old, is a friendly, sweet boy who loves everyone he meets—kids, dogs, you name it!
The vet determined that the best option for Biscotti’s leg is an amputation, as any other treatment would only provide temporary relief or lead to long-term arthritis and pain. On Wednesday, he will undergo the amputation, neuter, and receive necessary meds. He’s already had x-rays and will begin heartworm treatment later this month. The total cost of his veterinary care before transport is estimated at $935, and we need your help to cover it.
Biscotti will be transported to Minnesota on February 21st, where he’s hoping to find a foster-to-adopt family ready to give him a loving home! Can you please help support his journey?
