Shep is a vibrant and energetic dog who thrives on daily exercise and play. He's mastered the art of fetching and delights in the chase, showcasing his happiness when someone engages in a continuous ball-throwing routine. With a friendly disposition, Shep warmly greets new people, earning the approval of even the UPS delivery person. His separation anxiety makes him a loyal companion, sticking close and expressing his discomfort when left alone. This velcro dog follows his owner from room to room, creating a strong bond.
While Shep is excellent with adults, he may not be the ideal match for families with small children or those with cats due to his exuberant behavior. He's a bit vocal when separated from his loved ones, making shared-wall living less suitable for him. However, he shows promise in leash training and has been accident-free indoors, demonstrating good house manners.
Shep's preference for play over treats makes him unique, enjoying activities like tug-of-war and keep-away games. While he may exhibit some resource guarding tendencies, he generally gets along with other dogs, benefiting from further socialization.
Overall, Shep is a lively and loving companion, best suited for a home that can match his energy levels and provide the engaging activities he thrives on.
