Meet Caymus, an adorable and affectionate puppy who revels in playtime and cuddles. In his foster home, he shares the company of fellow canine companions, finding joy in their playful interactions. Caymus takes breaks from play to seek affection from his human friends, enjoying their company throughout the day.
In search of a loving family, Caymus requires guidance to understand that the world is not a daunting place. Prior to his time in his foster home, he had limited exposure to the outside world, making unfamiliar faces intimidating. During initial encounters, he may display cautiousness and a slight growl. His Texas foster diligently works to address these fears through effective training, advising new acquaintances to give him the space to warm up at his own pace.
Caymus is making excellent progress with potty training, showing improvement on walks and outdoor potty breaks. While he initially had a few indoor accidents, he now wears a belly band as a precaution. Notably, he refrains from wearing it inside his crate during the foster's absence or overnight and has remained accident-free. Behaviorally, he is a devoted snuggler who enjoys closeness with his foster and foster siblings. Some training is recommended to address leash pulling and reinforce basic commands. Caymus engages in playful biting, an area the foster is actively addressing.
He is not food aggressive with other dogs and uses a puzzle bowl to slow down his eating pace. Although he displays some reactivity towards bikers, he is improving and becoming more curious about passersby. Overall, Caymus is a well-tempered pup and would make a wonderful addition to any family. While he would thrive with another canine companion, he can also be content as the only dog with sufficient stimulation and exercise. A fenced yard would be a bonus, as he loves running around in a secure outdoor space.
Currently residing with adults and small dogs in his foster home, Caymus has not been introduced to cats or children.
