Hello there! Thank you so much for your interest in Charley! He is a super sweet boy that is looking for a new forever home. He was surrendered to a local shelter where he found it to be loud and scary, so he came to a foster home and is thriving! He is a typical dog...for the most part. He is friendly and bubbly with his favorite people, outgoing with strangers, playful with no resource guarding issues, potty trained, crate trained, does well in a car, loves tug of war, has yet to find a food he isn't a fan of, loves sleeping in sun beams, and snuggles during movie time.
You may have noticed that he is a bit different than most dogs in at least one way. He only has 3 legs!!! Just don't tell him that. He does not seem to notice and other than some hopping around you'd never know he was any different. He has no issues jumping up onto beds (or the couch), getting in and out of cars, or running around playing with the other residential dogs in the home. He seems to thrive with other dogs in the home and while he loves playing with people he absolutely adores playing with dogs. His favorite is tug of war and if given the chance he would play all day. He can get vocal when playing but there has never been any aggression issues and when told to stop Charley listens almost immediately. He doesn't seem to mind the barn cat through the glass door, so maybe cats are ok? When around a dog savvy cat Charley will ignore it. However, when a cat runs from him his playful tendencies come out and he tries to chase them. It isn't aggressive but it has the potential to hurt a cat simply due to the size difference. So maybe no cats unless its one that is dog savvy and won't run from him. While Charley is crate trained he does from time to time bark when first going in there (only seems to happen in the morning when we leave for work. In the evenings he sleeps in there just fine!) so an apartment is probably not the best set up for him. Overall he is a sweet boy that just wants to play all day! If you are looking for a laid back guy that just wants to be with his humans all the time, this might be your dog!
