Verra was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Texas at just 4-5 months old. It’s clear her life has not been easy. She is very fearful and not trusting but is making tiny baby steps in her foster home.
Verra is considered a flight risk. She will need to be double leashed inside a fence and always supervised. She will need to drag a leash inside the home to be able to guide her as she scurries away and will likely not be able to be caught. She is currently potty pad trained.
Verra requires another dog(s) in the home that she can continue to learn from. She really perks up when they are present. Verra will require an extremely patient and quiet home with no children under the age of 12.
She will likely never be super outgoing or a dog who will enjoy outings but with time and love she’ll soon realize what it’s like to not worry. Her past will fade and her future will be bright.
