Hi there! My name is Maxine, but my mom usually ends up calling me sweetie pie cause I'm such a good girl. I have been here for a little bit now and she's been pleasantly surprised by how I am doing. You see, I came into a local impound as a very skinny, stray pup. I had missing hair, yellow fur, most would have called me a hot mess. Well with a few good meals and some manners from my mom and dad, I am here to tell you...watching Christmas movies on the couch by the fireplace is an excellent upgrade!! I have been learning a few of my favorite things and they are food, mom, treats, dad, snacks, human sibling who gives extra snacks, and whatever bones I can find to keep me occupied for a few minutes.

I really have been learning a lot since I arrived in my foster home. I almost have this potty training thing down, I love to eat my meals out of puzzle toys, and cats really aren't that fun to chase. Mom gave me a firm lecture one day and I decided I would play elsewhere. My dog brother and sister are pretty cool! They have been teaching me that even if I do something naughty, mom and dad are still going to love me. They share their bones and even their bed with me sometimes, but only if I am calm up there! I already know sit and we are working on down, mom says with a treat, I can learn anything! I would love to have a family to call my own if not for the holidays, for the new year!

Maxine is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
