My name is Jacobi! My foster parents think that I am a Russian Blue and Domestic Shorthair mix because both of them have cat allergies but they are not allergic to me!
They told me that my home etiquette is AMAZING!!!
I use my litterbox like a pro.
I never bite or scratch furniture.
I don’t try to eat your food or go through your trash.
I never knock stuff down.
I don’t climb on your refrigerator or tall shelves.
I think some plants are tasty but will ignore most of them. My foster mom had to take one plant to her work cubicle because I kept trying to eat it, but I don’t pay attention to the rest of the plants.
I LOVE being your companion from a distance! I am NOT a lapcat and I don’t like to cuddle or be picked up. If you are sitting on the couch, I will come up to you and headbutt you for pets, and then sit on the opposite end. If you are sleeping, I will jump onto the bed and curl up in your legs. My personality is introverted and shy. I am scared of doors opening like the balcony door or the front door, and will hide under the bed until I feel safe. I also hide under the bed when strangers come over. Because of this, my foster parents think I would do best in a quieter home.
If you pick me up anyway, I will try to escape and then sit a distance away from you. If you come to where I am laying and cuddle me, that is fine and I will accept that. No matter what, I will never ever bite or scratch you, even if I am super upset or overstimulated. I am cuddliest in the mornings, when I jump on the bed and rest on your legs.
My foster parents are surprised at how self-sustaining (or picky) I am. They leave dry food out for me and I just graze all day. They got me 5 different brands of wet food to try and I only ate a little bit before I walked away.
I am also playful! Put one of those cat iPad games in front of me and I will swat at the fishes. I also love the door hanging feather toys and playing with them as batting practice. I really like toys where I can “catch” something and I will entertain myself with toys.
Because I’m playful, self-sustaining, and respectful, I would be such a wonderful and loyal companion!
One thing you should know about me is I do have a limp. The vet says it is a luxating patella and I may have just been born this way or I could have an old injury from my time before rescue- they are not sure. We are monitoring this for now and they don't believe surgery will be needed as there could be more complications from surgery.
