Raspberry is a "people" dog.. the highlight of his day is seeing his humans. He literally bounces up and down when his foster mom gets home. He also loves car rides, making him the perfect little "take me everywhere with you" sort of pup. He is crate trained, and prefers to eat inside his kennel. He is almost completely potty trained, and should be completely potty trained in his forever home, as long as he is kept on a schedule. He just can't wait to find his forever home!

Raspberry weighs 14lbs and is from Texas. He will arrive in Minnesota on 07/09 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN.

One big thing you should know is that he is heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting him! After he undergoes treatment for his condition he will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease.

Because he needs treatment, he is available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program.

He will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so his foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. While he is undergoing treatment, he should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means he should relax in his crate or cuddle with you. Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
