Hey there! My name is Carnival, but my humans call me Buddy. I would consider myself a buddy personally, as I always like to be where my foster mom is at. I follow her around and check in on her, always hoping she’s going to get treats for me.
I am a loving and extremely snuggly dog. I like to look lovingly into your eyes, and my foster mom’s friends have said I look like I’m looking into their soul. I burrow under the covers, and sometimes it’s hard to find me! I would love to sleep in your bed with you, because I just love humans so much.
I walk excellently on a leash and am doing so well at potty training! I’m almost there, but sometimes I have accidents if it’s too long between being let out. I prefer to be let out every 3-4 hours max, and I would LOVE someone who works from home or is able to let me out more frequently. Maybe even a doggy door! I can also sleep through the entire night with no accidents!
I am working on not barking at strangers on walks. I like to warn my foster mom and when she sits down with me, I calm down. She rewards me when I calm down, which makes me feel so proud. I warm up pretty quickly to new people, especially if they give me attention. I live in an apartment now and I’m pretty quiet and can be trusted to be left out during short periods of time. I really don’t like my crate at all though, and will be very vocal if I’m left in there. I want to be able to wait for you loyally by the door for when you return. This might change as I get more comfortable in my forever home. Don’t worry though, I’m not destructive.
I get along great with my foster sister dog. She’s pretty mellow and calm, which I like. Sometimes I mimic her behavior which is pretty cute. I also have been around cats and do a great job ignoring them! I’d do well as the only dog or with another calm dog. I’m not a huge fan of dogs running up to me and trying to play. I’m kinda over my playing phase, you know? I will give some growls to show that I’m not interested if the dog is being too active and coming into my space! If boundaries are respected all is well, I promise. I’m not out to get anyone and am a very sweet dog! I just can’t keep up with high energy these days. And I secretly love love love cuddling with my foster sister dog. My foster mom can’t stop taking pictures of us… so weird!
Meal times are my absolute favorite! I get so excited when I hear the food being prepared. I don’t like it when other dogs get near my food and may growl a bit, but my foster mom is able to touch my food no problem. She just feeds me in a separate room from other dogs, which works out with no issues! Better for me not to be tempted by the other dog’s food anyways.
I’m a mellow and cuddly small dog looking for a calm home to rest my snout. I want so badly to be loved! If there’s a human home often to let me out to potty, I’d consider myself a low maintenance dog, but promise me you won’t slack on the love! Please consider me to be your best little buddy!
