Midge came to rescue as an owner surrender from a hoarding situation.  She is a young girl who was living outside with about 30 other dogs and her interaction with people was limited.  Because of this, she is fearful/timid of new people but has never shown signs of aggression.  Since she joined her foster family in Texas she has really blossomed and we think that she will still do best in a home that can be patient with her to help her grow.

Midge has been great with her foster's young children as well as the other dogs in the house.  She has not been exposed to cats.  A schedule for going outside has helped with house training and she enjoys being held and talked to in a soft, loving manner - who doesn't!

Midge weighs 11 lbs and is from Texas.   Since this dog is coming from Texas where heartworm disease is highly prevalent, there is a chance that even if they test  negative for heartworm now they may be positive in the future as it takes microfilariae 5 to 7 months to mature into adult heartworms after infection.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
