Sadie is leash and crate trained and does well in a car. She is protective and eager to please, and also very intelligent, goofy, and affectionate. Her foster had her for a very short time and reported that she is friendly but a little cautious. She is a very intelligent dog and seems to have had some good basic training on commands such as sit, shake and lay down. She is potty trained and has had no accidents in the house. She is crate trained but will put up a little resistance to stay out of one. She enjoys hanging out in the yard and chasing birds. We suspect she has some cattle dog in her mix. Her figure is slim and athletic and she has a lot of energy for a dog her age. She gets along with other dogs but seems to want to be the alpha dog! She would be fine with or without other dogs in the home, and has been around older children and adults as well. She has not been around cats or very young kids.

Sadie weighs 30 pounds and is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 5/21 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available only through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
