Hi! I came to Ruff Start a few weeks ago with my sister, Artemis and her kittens. I'm a bit on the shy side. I need some time to become familiar with my new surroundings and humans. Once I'm comfortable, I will allow you to pet me. But I'm not a fan of being held - at least not yet. I enjoy sitting at the top of the cat tree and looking out the window. My foster mom heard meowing and noticed I was talking to the resident cats who were outside. Yes, I'm interested in other cats! I need to be adopted with one of my sister's kittens (and would qualify for the mom and me program) and/or there needs to be another cat in the home.

My family and I were recently diagnosed with Feline Calicivirus. This is a viral disease common in large unvaccinated groups of cats. Calicivirus affects a cats immune system and can cause upper respiratory infections and oral infections. Thankfully, our kitty family is asymptomatic and at this time does not require any veterinary care. Calicivirus is species specific, so only affects cats. If we find a home with other cats, it is required the resident cats are fully up to date on their vaccines to ensure a low risk of spread.

Miss Athena transferred from a small rural shelter in western MN. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
