Hi, I'm Artemis. I just transferred to Ruff Start a few weeks ago from a small rural shelter in western MN with my sister, Miss Athena. I was pregnant and had my kittens on March 13th. I'm especially bonded to my baby RachelMarine, and therefore qualify for the Mom and Me Program! When we are adopted as a pair, my adoption fee is only $25! Click here to learn about RachelMarine.
I'm a beautiful tortie with a tan tip on my tail. I love to cuddle with my kittens and I enjoy sitting at the top of the cat tree and looking out the window. I'm really beginning to open up to humans. I'm interested in the other cats in the house but haven't met them. There's a dog in the house too - can hear him but have yet to meet.
The vet says I have Stomatitis and will be getting most of my teeth removed before adoption. Don't let that fool you, I can still eat my food. I eat canned food twice a day (breakfast and dinner) and have dry food available as well.
Also, my family and I were recently diagnosed with Feline Calicivirus. This is a viral disease common in large unvaccinated groups of cats. Calicivirus affects a cats immune system and can cause upper respiratory infections and oral infections. Thankfully, our kitty family is asymptomatic and at this time does not require any veterinary care. Calicivirus is species specific, so only affects cats. If we find a home with other cats, it is required the resident cats are fully up to date on their vaccines to ensure a low risk of spread.
Artemis came from a shelter in western MN. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
