Hi, I’m Taffy-Candy! I'm sweet as pie and a complete love bug. I'm initially a little shy and scared, especially when I’m traveling and not sure where I’m going. However, once I am settled in and know that I am safe, I give you all the kisses and love!
I'm independent and enjoy investigating all the new smells in the backyard and on walks. In the backyard, I go off and explore and then come back to check on you periodically to give you a quick sniff or kiss and make sure you're okay. Then, when I'm ready to soak up your attention, I'll collapse at your feet and roll over onto my back, so you can give me the highest quality of belly scritches.
While I love my exercise and the opportunity to run my zoomies out in the backyard, I'm just as happy to curl up with a bone and just hang out. I'm also quite the observant gal, and enjoy sitting at the window and watching the world go by. People, dogs, squirrels and bunnies all pass by, as I politely sit and take it all in. Overall, I'm quiet, and my foster has yet to hear me bark.
I haven’t found much of an interest in toys yet, but I’m sure with time that I will find them more interesting. What I do love is food -- though, weirdly enough, that doesn't include peanut butter. I will work for treats, as you can see me doing here! And I will even sit super still and wait patiently until you give it to me. I've quickly learned how to sit and come when called. With a little time and practice, I'll master all of my obedience skills. I also will gladly go into my crate if you throw a treat or two in there for me. I sleep in there all night long without a peep and without any accidents. In fact, I'm completely potty trained!
Because I was so scared and shy initially, my family has me wearing my collar and harness all the time and dragging leashes as I am considered a flight risk…whatever that means. But I do well outside and will follow you around and enjoy all the new smells! I also seem to understand that outside is where I do business as I have yet to have an accident inside.
I do well with other dogs and have no problem coexisting with the two resident brothers of the house. With time and slow introductions I will do well with other dogs. That being said, I like humans more than my four legged friends. I soak up all the attention and love that you will give me!
