Hoka, who also responds to Snickers, came to us quite scared and very pregnant. She only had experience with one human, so coming to a new place with new humans was really hard on her. She started out very scared of us and would hiss and hide when we entered her room. After a few days, we moved her up into the office in our home where she would have a little more human interaction. Within a day, she was finally eating, drinking, and letting out little meows from her safe space.

The following day, she decided she felt comfortable enough to come out and rub on us a little. After that, she discovered the dogs, who she immediately bonded with, and she bonded hard. Hoka would do best in a home with other pets who can be tolerant of her neediness to them (our dogs get very sick of her).

Hoka is pretty active in the morning and likes to run around.  Then she typically finds a secret spot to lay down and take a break from her babies.  Upon hearing the can of wet food being cracked opened, Hoka flocks to you and meows until it's ready. While she craves wet food, she's fine with eating dry food. She spends the day watching her kittens and relaxing - in the evening, she usually likes to cuddle up to the older dog.

She still doesn't like to be held or approached, but loves to rub on us when we're sitting still and occasionally lay with us on the couch. She does seem to enjoy the company of small humans and did great with our friend's two year old.

Now that her babies are old enough to fend for themselves, she's ready to find her freedom in a home where she can relax and tell you all about her life. S he loves to talk! She will need a family that is okay with a cat who won't want to cuddle, but she will still love you very hard, and maybe one day would work up to it. She's a very easy and low maintenance cat who will make a perfect pet.

Hoka is from Princeton, MN and weighs 6 lbs. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
