Let me introduce you to Mr. Sugarbutt! He is the sweetest old man who is still looking for his forever home … a quiet retirement home maybe? He was originally adopted from a Texas animal control and returned at the age of 12 with years of vetting paperwork, food, and treats because his owner was in her 90s and became unable to care for him any longer. He has been very laid back with everyone in the household. He is almost 100% blind so small children might not be a good fit since they move quick and he gets pretty scared of chaos. He still manages to get around fairly easy. He can do stairs as long as he is on harness & leash so he can be caught if he has a misstep. He does get very vocal when left alone in a room as he loves his people and loves to cuddle and just be near his human. He’d be an ideal companion for someone who's home a lot.
Take a look at this cute video of Sugarbutt talking to his foster mom.
He’s looking for a home with a family that can look beyond his blindness because it really doesn’t define him. He loves walks, cuddles, being outside, adventures and especially his humans; that would be any human because he LOVES people. He's ok being an only dog or with a dog friend that is a senior like him that is laid back … Sugarbutt is not one to play much with other dogs but he gets along ok with them; just prefers humans. His health is great other than the need for eye drops daily.
From Sugarbutt: “Foster mom says I’m a really sweet guy and she knows there’s someone out there that will love me as much as she does and I trust her.”
