Hi there! My name is Pepe Mendoza and I came from Texas.

My friends just call me Pepe!  I originally came to my foster home in Texas just before some freezing temps were about hit. A Good Samaritan tried to get me for 3 weeks and they were finally able to gain my trust and get me to safety. I am definitely more of a cautious pup with new people. In my home now I prefer the companionship of my foster dad. I like to take naps with him and just sit in his lap. I'm a pretty low energy guy and I don’t show a lot of interest in the other dogs. I am not a fan of taking meds and will get snippy if you try to give me meds in my mouth. But really do you like people putting stuff in your mouth? No? Well me neither! My fosters have been getting creative with my liquid dewormer and have been mixing it with peanut butter and/or cream cheese but I am a smart boy and know better! Maybe my new home will figure out other ways to trick me though. Sounds like a fun challenge!

I am crated when my humans leave the home and at night and do ok. I know how to use the doggie door and am mostly potty trained. With a good schedule I should only keep improving. Currently I use a bellyband when I am inside just in case.

I really am a sweet boy but when I don't like something I will let you know. I will give you a warning growl though so you learn what not to do. Because I can be a little more temperamental I would not do well in a home with kiddos. They just do not understand my warnings. I currently live in a home with small dogs and am fine with them. I am not sure how I would do with bigger pups so slow intros will be required. Do I sound like a good fit for you? Come on look at my cute face!
