Howdy, I'm Camila Claus! Not long ago, I was footloose and fancy free living in Texas. I did whatever I wanted until I met this guy. We got along pretty well and the next thing I knew, I was pregnant. That guy turned out to be a loser and left me alone with puppies. Since times were tough, I moved my babies in under a trailer home.
My foster brothers and sister are really fun to play with and I’m a lot happier with friends. I really like the cat that lives here, sometimes she snuggles with me and that makes me feel happy.
I know I have a bright future ahead of me and I’m so happy to be in Minnesota. I really would like my own family but they will need to be very patient with me. Eventually I will be brave and just hope someone will take the time to get to know me. Will you be my forever family and help me to live my best life?
Camila Claus weighs 70 lbs and is from Texas. One big thing you should know is they are heartworm positive - but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting them! After they undergo treatment for their condition they will be completely healthy again, and heartworm is not a contagious disease. Because they need treatment, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) program. Click here to learn more about this program. They will get heartworm treatment at one of Ruff Start’s partner veterinary clinics in St. Cloud, so their foster will need to be comfortable getting them to and from the appointments. Treatment will consist of three injections: the first will be roughly 30 days after they enter rescue. Then, the second and third injections will happen 30 days after the first. When they are undergoing treatment, they should be on activity ‘restrictions’ which just means they should relax in their crate or cuddle with you. Click here to learn more about heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes.
