Hi there! My name is Winona and I came to Ruff Start from Texas originally. Well, actually I’m still there! Since I haven’t arrived in Minnesota yet, I’m available only through Ruff Start’s Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) Program. I currently weigh 35lb, but I’m still growing.
A little about me… I am a puppy and learning all the new things that puppies need to learn. Puppies typically love dogs, cats, kids, and adults. I am high energy and I need a family that has the time and patience for a puppy. The reward is puppy breath and kisses! I am a sweet girl, but I guard my food if there are other dogs around. I am alpha over my brother, not seriously aggressively but I make him wait his turn. I am not afraid of water but am afraid of baths. I love to run and play and get a little shy if you run with me on the leash run and play. I enjoy playing fetch, walking, running, being outside, playing with other dogs, toys, car rides, quiet time, and learning/obedience training. I am very treat-oriented. I love my dental chew toy and knotted rope-type toys. I destroy the stuffed toys. I know the following commands: Sit, Stay. I rarely bark and am a Social butterfly, Active, Mellow, Playful, and Curious. My brother Johnny and I were found on a busy road by an empty lot, eating garbage on the road while dodging cars. My ideal home would have other dogs and children and patient humans. I love to go for walks and would love someone to be home with me most of the day because I am so social. I live with Big dogs, Little dogs, and adults. I am a high-energy player, but then I like to rest and recharge. I am very well-behaved and smart. I will do anything For duck jerky! Actually, any snack for that matter.
*The breed of a shelter puppy is often a guess based on what traits the dog presents when they are brought into the shelter. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be fully grown.*

I arrive in Minnesota on 12/4 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN. Once I get there, I might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as my foster, you will be required to transport me to and from these vetting appointments.
To apply for this animal via our foster-to-adopt program, please submit an adoption application: www.ruffstartrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/ .
