Hi, my name is Harvest and I came from a local impound. I currently weigh about 40lbs, but I'm skinny and need to put on another five to be my ideal weight.  Here is what my foster family has to share about me:
Harvest or Harvey as we call him, is a little over a year-old neutered male boxer-pitbull cross. He loves being around other dogs and playing with them. He is learning to chase tennis balls but his favorite is anything that squeaks. Harvey was pretty skinny and had severe allergies. When he came into rescue he was sick and scared. He is wary of strangers but has since opened up. After he feels comfortable, Harvey is extremely friendly and affectionate and enjoys giving kisses and snuggling on the couch. New things frighten him and he will freeze and crouch down. I just let him know that it will not hurt him and he's ok. Harvey could be a good candidate for homes with children but he's not been tested yet. He has been tested with cats and he's unsure but also is very interested in them. He has not shown any aggression towards the kitty. Harvey is crate-trained. He is still working on his house-training and will need to be closely supervised for awhile to make sure he is doing his business outside. He also knows how to sit, lay down and shake by putting his paw waayyy  up in the air. It's super cute and his ears sit on top of his head. Harvey is extremely dog-friendly and loves to make friends and play with other dogs. He needs about 24 hours of decompression time in a new environment.  Slow introductions with new people is a necessity and he should receive lots of praise and rewards for interacting appropriately with strangers. Harvey will do best with a patient family with a fairly quiet home. He does best in a consistent, predictable environment. He will also do best with at least one other doggy playmate in the home. Harvey is a happy, cute boy who deserves to finally find a family that will care for him and keep him safe.  If you're interested in adopting this happy go lucky boy, please fill out an application today .
