Hi there! My name is Bashful but my foster family calls me Nash and I came to Ruff Start from Texas originally. I currently weigh 50 pounds.
I’m getting used to the frosted grass and the cold air, it’s very strange.  I love my humans; my foster mom chuckles whenever my foster dad comes into the room because I really like to follow him around (unknown experience with younger children).  I am the TRUE definition of CHILL.  I am currently living with another adult dog and I do just fine; I am actually good at ignoring her but I like being around her.

I am potty trained and I am great in my crate.  I would have slept in bed with my foster mom but she wanted me in the crate so I don’t lose my comfort for it.  I took 2 naps and slept through the night in there after arriving.

I love love love body scratches especially behind my ears and on my back end. I have some very dry skin and being brushed really helps this - maybe I’ll let my foster mom give me a bath!   I may not look like a lap dog but I regularly think I am and will plant my butt in someone’s lap.
I am learning the stairs - I haven’t had much exposure to a lot of stairs but I am feeling more confident going up and down.  While I haven’t engaged in much playtime, there are times when I start to get excited with the squeakers.
I walk well on a leash.  I am a very strong though and sometimes need correction on my focus.  I have not barked once since I arrived even when my resident dog was barking and wanting to play.  My ideal home would have a nice yard I could explore - a fence would be great as I like to go outside and hang and doing so on a leash or tie out is not my thing.
Are you ready to welcome me to your family?  I would love to meet you soon.  I will not disappoint.   My foster home would adopt me in a heartbeat, however, they have a new adoptee arriving on Thanksgiving.

If you are interested in getting to know me better, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
