**Bonded with Mr Poppy**

Hello, my name is The Blaze! Me and my littermates were found at about seven-weeks old in a trailer park, and we were very sick. Luckily someone was able to trap four of us. We were all barely hanging on and very scared when we were first taken in. I was the most protective and leery of my foster. Unfortunately, when you have to give multiple forms of medications it makes it hard for us to trust you. With all of the poking, prodding and medication completed, I am now a healthy and very happy kitten!

Me and my brother Poppy (also up for adoption!) seem to be joined at the hip, but I feel we could also be okay apart. It just seems as though I have taken on the protector role for Poppy, the runt who has struggled the most with his health. Me and my brothers have been with our foster since early October and have really blossomed into loving, playful kittens who just love to get pets and be loved! I might take a little more time to warm up, as that has been my personality from the beginning. As soon as I trust you though, I will welcome all the love and attention you can offer me.

I think I would do well with other kittens, adult cats who are okay with other cats and properly introduced, as well as dogs who are cat-friendly. I may do better in a household that is on the quiet side, as I seem to still be a bit skittish at times. I think older kids would be fine, as long as everyone in the household gives me enough time and patience in the beginning to settle in.

I am litter box trained and use the cat tree for climbing, playing and scratching. I enjoy laying on my cat tree, watching all the happenings going on outside. My foster has not seen me scratch on the furniture. To encourage that good behavior it is important to have access to proper scratching options, as well as keeping my claws trimmed. My foster has started trimming my claws, as they can be very sharp as kittens. We were all not used to being handled to trim our nails, but, with patience, I have allowed my foster to do so. With cautious, careful, handling I believe I will learn to trust my family with those kinds of care. I am a good eater and love canned food but am also eating kitten kibble.

I am neutered, microchipped, and will be up to date on all vaccines prior to adoption.

I hope to find a forever home who will give me what I need so I can live out the remainder of my

life so much better than where I came from.

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
