Hi friend, my name is Josey! I am a young, energetic, and handsome pup. I’m looking for my forever family and I heard you might be looking for a forever canine kiddo! If that’s true, do you think you could picture me on your couch? Or your lap? How about smothering you in kisses? Is that too forward? (I am a puppy after all!) Okay, okay. Let’s start with the basic small talk.

Though I’m still young and learning how to be a good canine citizen, I’m picking up on many things very quickly. My foster family is teaching me how to walk on a leash, fetch, shake, take food gently, lay down, and come when I am called. I sleep halfway through the night in my kennel but then need to get up to go potty. Hopefully when I'm older I will be able to go longer!

One thing that sets me apart is that I value some peace and quiet – I rarely feel the urge to bark other than when I’m playing. I don’t get why other dogs want to be so loud, but I’m happy that humans like this about me! Speaking of other canines, I get along well with them with a slow introduction and though I am curious about cats, I haven’t met one that really likes me yet. I hope so because I want to be friends!

A few of my dislikes include riding in the car and men. They both scare me a little, but I’m working on not being so afraid. Since I’m young, there’s a good chance that I will forget these insecurities when I am older.

Now that you know a little more about me, what do you say? Am I your new fur-kid?

If you are interested in getting to know me better, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application . An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
