Hi, my full name is Sir Alfred, but I mostly go by "Alfie." I spent at least 5 years fending for myself, so I'm still learning how to interact with humans, but I'm loving inside life! I love pets, wet food (and treats, and dry food, and whatever I can steal....I love food) my scratching board, and feather toys on strings.
I'm still learning not to express my displeasure (or affection) with bites and claws, but I've come a long way since I came to live with my foster family, and usually keep my teeth and claws to myself. I'm a curious boy and like to get into things, but I'm not destructive. I can't be trusted around open containers of food, but my foster mom says she can’t be trusted either, so what can you do.
I'm cautious around new people, but once I get to know you, I'm very talkative and sweet - I follow my foster family around chirping and meowing and generally getting under foot. I like to be where I can see what's going on and have conversations with the humans. I love pets and chin scratches, but I don't sit on laps. I'm unsure about being picked up, but I've been working on it with the foster humans. I might not ever be a lap cat, but my foster family think I might one day be the sort of cat that will sit next to you for pets and minor snuggles since I like people and scratches so much.
My foster family has two dogs towards whom I am largely indifferent. I try to steal the other foster cat's food, but I mostly leave her alone, and I back off when she tells me to. I have no problems using the litter box. Kids make me uncomfortable - I will do best in a house with older children. I'm looking for a family who will be amused by my antics and will be willing to play feather-on-a-string with me and listen to me talk (and maybe even talk back!)
