From the Foster:

Red, formerly named “Old Roy”, is the kind of dog that stops people on the street and they say “now that’s a good lookin’ dawg!” with his earthy toned coat, Precious Moment’s eyes, and gentle giant stature. In his home, he’s calm, rarely barks, but out in the wild suburban wilderness, can be easily excited by other dogs, as he’s continuing on his journey of socialization. His history pre: Ruff Start Rescue and fostering is unknown; whomever adopts this classic muzzly giant must be watchful of others getting too close when they haven’t been properly introduced. Red appreciates a routine schedule and being active.

Due to Red’s previous behaviors, his adopters must be intentional in his people and other-dog socializing to help Red understand the world around him. He would do well with an active person and or family (that is not made up of small children) and a calm living arrangement.

He loves walks, playing keep away with toys, Bully sticks, naps, deep scratches, and watching the abundant wildlife scurry around. Red is a good boy looking for his constant, loving, patient forever home. Red’s current foster treats Red’s anxiousness with some medication and they have not seen reactive behaviors since being treated, but slow introductions are a must. Red loves to cuddle and lay his head on anyone’s lap once he has gotten to know you.
