Angel is beautiful and socially awkward. She thrives off knowing that she is protected and cared for by her human. She would like her human home with her more often than not, just in case she hears a scary noise. She has high anxiety from thunder, gun shots, and fireworks. She was a stray in Oklahoma before coming to MN five years ago. She is being surrendered due to her human developing severe allergies to her.
Although she is not a snuggler, Angel will show affection with random kisses and following you everywhere. She would like a spot on the couch, not on your lap. Amazingly, she is not food motivated unless you have some meat to share with her. She won’t wander into the kitchen to beg or bug you while eating. She is also very clean. She doesn’t need to be bathed often, but she prefers not to poop in her own yard. A couple walks a day would be great for both you and her. She is perfect on a lead and not dog reactive while walking. She is curious and will take off on you if not leashed or in a fenced yard. A fenced in yard is an absolute must for her to get her exercise since she does not do well at dog parks. There are just too many scary big dogs that make her anxious and she will become territorial after a few visits.
She loves people but does not like being approached. She likes to handle the introductions at her own pace. Older, respectful children would be her preference over excitable, loud youngsters. She does well with smaller dogs at boarding or play dates but would prefer to be the only one at home. She does not like sharing her humans, her toys, her space.
Overall, she is a quiet dog. Her Husky dna comes out in some adorable vocalizations but does not bark much. However, she will let you know if UPS, FedEx or Amazon are in the neighborhood. She would prefer if you were also quietish – no yelling. She will yell back if there is loud talk or yelling in the house.
