Sarah joined the Ruff Start Rescue Board of Directors in September 2026. A passionate advocate for animal welfare, she has dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours to supporting animal rescue organizations through photography, fundraising, event planning, and volunteer leadership. Her hands-on experience has provided her with a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing animal welfare organizations, and she is committed to helping nonprofits grow their impact through strategic leadership, community engagement, and a shared commitment to helping animals in need.
Professionally, Sarah serves as Chief of Staff for a boutique wealth management firm, where she partners closely with executive leadership to drive strategic initiatives, optimize business operations, and support organizational decision-making. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience spanning financial services, operations, compliance, human resources, and client service, she brings a unique blend of operational expertise, strategic thinking, and collaborative leadership to the boardroom.
Sarah lives in Maple Grove with her husband, Matt, their rescue cat, Poppy, and rescue dog, Kylo. After losing her beloved dogs, Daisy and Duke, she felt called to deepen her involvement in animal welfare and dedicate more of her time to helping animals in need.
When she’s not working or volunteering, you’ll likely find her exploring the outdoors, photographing wildlife and pets, or spending time with family, friends, and the furry companions who continually inspire her passion for rescue.
