Sammie has been volunteering with Ruff Start® since 2010. She has volunteered in several different roles throughout the years including; secretary of the board, placement coordinator, volunteer coordinator, foster, events, and transport day volunteer.
Sammie has been surrounded by animals since she was a little girl. She had several dogs and cats growing up and currently has three rescued pets. She started fostering eleven years ago. Her first foster was a sick farm kitten named Jack. She knew the kitten needed a new home and medical attention so she connected with an animal rescue to see if they could help. A year later, her best friend founded Ruff Start Rescue. She quickly found a passion for animal rescue and Ruff Start Rescue.
Sammie grew up in Princeton. She lives in Cambridge with her husband, Tony, two daughters, and their son. Their pets are June, a shepherd mix, and Lace, a tabby cat.
