Emily Lewis became the Events Manager at Ruff Start Rescue® in August 2020 after relocating to the Twin Cities area from Missouri. Prior to joining Ruff Start®, Emily worked in the Marketing field, primarily at a locally-owned gymnastics academy where she held several positions including Social Media Manager, Marketing Coordinator, as well as managing several of the academy’s events.
In her role as Events Manager, Emily is responsible for overseeing the planning, promotion, and execution of awareness, fundraising, and other community events for Ruff Start Rescue. She works closely with staff and volunteers to ensure all events are successful. This includes seeking out new event prospects, scheduling events, recruiting volunteers, fosters and event leads, and assisting with promotion. Additionally, she tracks budget, ticket sales, registration information, donations, and other events statistics.
Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University. She studied Marketing and Management while a part of MWSU’s Women’s Soccer Program. After graduating, she accepted a position as a Social Media Manager at a locally-owned gymnastics academy, MEGA Gymnastics, and Cheer, and accrued a little over two years there.
Growing up, Emily has always had a sincere love and passion for animals and their welfare. She has had several dogs and one cat and recently has added a new member to her fur Family.
Emily lives in Elk River along with her puppy, Quincy. In her spare time, you can find Emily traveling, exploring new and enticing restaurants, being on the water, and spending time with her friends and family.
