Dr. Kathryn Fox was born and raised in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Her fascination and desire to care for animals began at a young age, as she was drawn to helping turtles cross the road and creating habitats for caterpillars to turn into monarch butterflies. Growing up, she dived deeper into this interest by volunteering at the Animal Humane Society. She still remembers sitting in a kennel, comforting and connecting with a very terrified pup, as this was the moment she knew she was going to be a veterinarian.
Kathryn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Business Management minor from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. In 2022, she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and began her veterinarian career at a small animal general practice hospital. Kathryn’s specific interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, oncology, and preventative medicine, as well as working with local rescue organizations.
Kathryn currently lives in Blaine, Minnesota with her fiancée, Nate, and Australian Cattle Dog, Ava. She loves sharing time with family and friends, exploring Minnesota with Ava, spending weekends at the cabin and discovering new restaurants and breweries. Kathryn is very excited to care for all the rescue animals that come through Ruff Start Rescue, as they start their new life!
