RSR Rangers & Education Fall Series Event: Helping Wild Animals

October 15 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join us at Ruff Start Rescue for a Rangers & Volunteer Event on October 15th, 2026!

Ruff Start Rangers, a program within the Education Department, aims to educate youth through service and activities in hopes the future of animal welfare sees fewer homeless pets and more responsible pet owners. All themes in this series come from this program.

This month, we’re exploring the world of wildlife and the important role families play in keeping wild animals safe. Kids will learn what to do (and what not to do) when they encounter injured or orphaned wildlife, how to support wild animals in their own backyards, and how everyday pet behaviors, like roaming cats or off‑leash dogs, can impact local ecosystems. After the presentation, we’ll work together on an interactive activity that helps kids practice making safe, responsible choices for both pets and wildlife.

When signing up, please include parents and kids in the total admission number so we have an idea of how many will be in attendance. Be sure to check out the last event of the fall series coming in November here.
