Creating Community Cat Shelters at Ruff Start Rescue

We are hosting a family-focused volunteer event to make Community Cat Shelters for community cats. Community cats are unowned cats who live outdoors in virtually every landscape on every continent where people live. Like pet cats, they belong to the domestic cat species (Felis catus). However, community cats, also called feral cats, are generally not socialized, or friendly, to people. Because these animals would not do well as indoor pets, we work to provide resources to support them outdoors. This includes a trap/neuter, release program, and providing the resources they need to live healthy lives outdoors.
In this program we will learn more about community cats and trap/neuter/release (TNR) while making warm shelters for them. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about Ruff Start Rescue, gain new skills, and meet some other like-minded volunteers!
