Meet Millie! 💗

Millie is a gentle, affectionate sweetheart who has been winning hearts from day one! She’ll happily greet you, rub against you, and tuck her head under your hand to request her favorite head rubs. She loves belly rubs, cozy blankets, and curling up beside you for a peaceful nap. She may not be a lap cat just yet, and being picked up isn’t her favorite, but she’s more than happy to be close to her people and soak up the love.

This mellow girl enjoys the simple things in life: watching birds from her window perch, stretching out on a soft blanket, batting around a ball on a string, and enjoying a tasty Churu treat. She isn’t overly active or vocal, making her a wonderful match for someone looking for a calm, easygoing companion.

Millie has had some frightening experiences with other animals, so she’s looking for a loving home where she can be your one and only pet. She deserves a peaceful place where she can feel safe, relax, and let her sweet personality continue to shine. She may need time to become comfortable with being handled, but she’ll gladly accept affection on her own terms.

If you’re looking for a soft, sweet soul who will greet you with love and happily keep you company without demanding the spotlight, Millie might just be your girl. Give her a cozy blanket, a sunny window, and a little kindness, and you may just find your new best friend! 💕

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
