Oh, hi there! My name is Lovelace, the Fat Bebe, or Billie! I go by many names and am the single most sassy panted girl you probably have ever met.

I am gonna talk about me, why you should adore me, and why even though I am just a chunky girl, I would love to be *your* chunky girl!

I got adopted once and although they loved me very much, the other kitty in the house kinda beat me up all the time. I am slow to warm up to be kitties because of that. I currently live with 4 other cats! I love one of them and play with him often, two I chase after but don’t actually want to play with them, and one I am scared of because she is even more sassy than even… me! (Crazy, I know)

Dogs and I probably wouldn’t be friends. I take a long time to decide other things are safe and although I have met doggies, they make pretty nervous. A small one who is patient, maybe! Children who can respect my boundaries and queues are great! I like gentle rubs, butt taps, belly strokes, and you can even tug on my tail a little bit. I have ebs and flows of being social so a family who is understanding of my ever changing situation is important, as I will chirp and stink eye you otherwise. I’m never mean or bitey, I just wilt a little and hide.

Chasing strings and toys, scaling my entire cat tree in one leap, and wrestling with the brother I do like are some of my favorite things to do. Watching birds in the window, laying on the couch with near my people, and snuggling in comfy blankets also make me so happy. Being near you! Cuddle time on the couch is great too, because then I can spend time getting rubs. I know exactly when food time is too and will preform a standard ritual of dancing in circles, chirping, and tapping the bowl too, so don’t think I won’t come find you if you’re late!

I as a higher being, require my litterbox tended to in a regular fashion as well. Knowing that I am a Princess, this shouldn’t be an issue for the peasants of my home to help support this choice of finer living.

I love climbing, playing, running, having zoomies, napping, chasing, and just hanging out! I am a special girl who has some quirks, looking for a loving, playful, cozy forever home. Could that be you?

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
