🖤 Meet Kevin McCATister! 🖤

Part-time parkour athlete, full-time chaos coordinator, and aspiring professional wrestler!

Kevin is an adorable little fluff ball with a BIG personality and an even bigger supply of energy! He takes his parkour training very seriously, whether he’s scaling furniture, launching himself from impressive heights, or performing gravity-defying stunts during his daily zoomies. When he’s not training for his next big event, he’s wrestling with his feline foster brother—which happens to be one of his favorite pastimes!

When Kevin isn’t perfecting his athletic abilities, he’s busy sharpening his hunting skills. Unfortunately, he hasn’t quite figured out that human hands, feet, and legs aren’t prey. He’s still learning his manners and needs a patient adopter who can help redirect his enthusiasm toward appropriate toys.

Kevin also has a flair for the dramatic, especially when food is involved! If his very vocal demands don’t get your attention fast enough, he may resort to climbing your leg to deliver his message personally. Subtlety is definitely not his strong suit!

Despite his wild-child antics, Kevin has a sweet side, too. Once he’s burned through some of his seemingly endless energy, you’ll often find him curled up with one of his furry foster siblings. He especially loves learning “how to cat” from his feline friends, including being groomed by them. He also enjoys snuggling with his canine buddies when it’s time for a nap.

While Kevin enjoys the occasional pet, he’s not your typical lap kitten. He’s independent, and when he seeks out human attention, he usually has an ulterior motive—food or playtime! He much prefers the companionship of other animals, so a home with furry friends would be right up his alley.

Kevin’s ideal forever home:

🐾 A furry playmate! Kevin thrives with other animals and would do best with a playful, kitten-friendly cat who can keep up with his energy.
🤪 Someone who appreciates a little chaos! He’s adventurous, curious, and always looking for his next big adventure.
✨ A patient adopter. Kevin is fully litter-box trained but is still learning that people aren’t chew toys or climbing equipment.
🏡 A home without very young children. His rough-and-tumble play style makes him better suited for adults or older, cat-savvy kids.

Kevin may not spend his days curled up in your lap, but he’ll keep you entertained, make you laugh, and bring an endless supply of personality to your home.

If you’re looking for a hilarious, adventurous little troublemaker with a big heart for his furry friends, Kevin McCATister might just be your perfect match! 🖤

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
