Meet Greyson! 🐾

Greyson is the most outgoing of his three brothers and the first to greet you at the door! Curious and confident, he loves checking out what’s happening around him. When meeting new animals, he prefers to watch and observe while he figures things out.

This playful boy has energy to spare! He loves chasing his brothers, wrestling (he has an impressive takedown move!), racing through tunnels, and leaping after his favorite feather teaser. He even carries his toys off to hide in his tunnel or covered bed. And watch out for his hilarious “Halloween cat pose” when he gets the zoomies! 😂

After about 30 minutes of hard play, Greyson is ready for a nap and some affection. He was the first of his brothers to enjoy cuddles and purr, and he’s now rubbing up against his foster, too. We think a wonderful lap cat is in the making!

Greyson uses his litter box and is comfortable in his room, retreating to his cat tower when he wants a safe place to observe. He’s still getting acquainted with the resident pets through slow introductions.

Greyson is the perfect mix of playful and sweet. He’d love a home with plenty of playtime, cozy nap spots, and people who will enjoy watching his confident, silly personality shine. Once playtime is over, he may just be ready to curl up in your lap! ❤️

Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
