Culligan, aka Culli, is a 3½-year-old “puppy” trapped in an adult dog’s body—and he’s having a fabulous time making up for lost puppyhood! This handsome guy is playful, affectionate, eager to please, and absolutely convinced that being near his people is where all the good stuff happens.
Culli is a certified Velcro companion. If you’re on the couch, he’s on the couch. Reading a book outside? He’ll happily curl up beside you. Watching TV? He’s ready for his spot. Sleeping? He may quietly place his head on your pillow and wait for you to wake up. Because apparently an alarm clock with a wet nose and excellent timing is much better than an ordinary alarm.
And then there are the kisses. Culli WILL kiss you. A lot. If you’re too far away to reach, he’ll even blow you an air kiss. His version of “cobbing” is also pretty enthusiastic—he may put his whole mouth around your arm while showering you with kisses—but he doesn’t bite. He’s simply a very affectionate guy with absolutely no concept of personal-space boundaries.
Culli loves to play and is a big fan of chew toys, bouncy balls, tug, and fetch. He doesn’t resource guard and is working on the fine art of actually releasing the toy so the fetch game can continue. He’s also incredibly food motivated and eager to please, which has made his training progress especially rewarding. He knows come, sit, stay, no, and “that’s a good boy,” and he’s working on being calm when he wants attention rather than resorting to his very dramatic whining routine.
He’s fully house-trained and crate-trained, rides beautifully in the car, takes treats gently, and walks nicely on leash. He does have some reactivity toward unfamiliar dogs when they’re approaching each other on walks, so he’ll need continued support and management in those situations. He can be curious about dogs in other settings and may do best with thoughtful introductions.
Culli generally does well with people of all sizes, although slow introductions are recommended. More than anything, he wants to be included in his human’s life. Give him a person to adore, some toys to fling around, a cozy spot to curl up, and plenty of opportunities to show off his impressive kissing skills, and Culli is one happy guy.
He’s playful. He’s smart. He’s affectionate. He’s a little dramatic. And he is VERY, VERY kissy. Basically, Culli is ready to be your full-time sidekick—and he has absolutely no intention of letting you forget how much he loves you. ❤️🐶
