Meet Bruno! 🐾

If you’ve ever wished for a big, cuddly teddy bear in dog form, Bruno is your guy! This sweet gentleman may be a little nervous when first meeting someone, but it doesn’t take long for him to settle in and show his affectionate personality. He’s a curious boy who loves to investigate the world around him, complete with the most adorable head tilts whenever he’s trying to figure something out or hears a new sound!

Bruno is all about the simple pleasures in life: good food, cozy naps, leisurely strolls, and plenty of cuddles. He isn’t overly active and is perfectly happy spending his days relaxing on the couch or wandering around the yard, keeping an eye on the neighborhood birds and squirrels. Bruno is wonderfully social and surprisingly quiet. He hasn’t felt the need to bark at visitors or the mail carrier, and he’s simply happy to have people around. He can warm up quickly, too — after meeting new human friends, he was soon leaning against them on the couch, soaking up pets and cuddles. He gets along well with his foster home’s resident dog, shares space nicely, and has shown no signs of resource guarding. He might love having another canine companion, though he could also be perfectly content as your one-and-only best friend.

Bruno appreciates a calm home with a predictable routine. When he’s tired, he’ll even put himself to bed in his kennel! He also prefers when people approach him gently at his level rather than bending over and reaching toward him. On walks, he’s been doing great with no observed pulling or reactivity, and he doesn’t feel the need to join in when other dogs bark. He’s had zero accidents in the house and takes care of his business promptly when taken outside.

Bruno is still learning his basic commands, but he’s very food motivated and eager to work for treats, which he takes ever so gently. He may not know “sit” just yet, but show him a treat and he’ll happily demonstrate that he’s got the idea! He also enjoys a good lick mat, making snack time another one of his favorite activities.
