Boop is a wonderful companion who loves being part of his people’s daily lives! He is litter box trained and has settled into his home beautifully.

Boop is an affectionate guy who loves attention and will roll onto his side when he is looking for some extra love. He can get a little grabby if you touch his belly, but switch to some under-chin scratches and he is one happy boy! He enjoys climbing into laundry baskets for cozy naps and has recently discovered that a cat tree is pretty fun too. He may be a little shy when new people visit, but once he feels comfortable, he will come out and explore on his own timeline.

Boop has been bonding more and more with his people and enjoys checking in throughout the day. He is also quite the clever and resourceful guy who loves exploring and figuring things out for himself!

If you are looking for a sweet, independent, and entertaining companion who enjoys affection on his own terms, Boop could be your guy!

One important thing about me: I’m FIV positive. Don’t let that scare you away! Cats with FIV can live long, happy, healthy lives with regular care and lots of love.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

Please read the following general requirements carefully before submitting an adoption application. While this criteria is our typical standard, we understand all situations are unique! Don’t be discouraged if you don’t feel you meet one of these bullet points – feel free to submit an application anyway, so we can discuss your situation with you.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Submitted applications must be filled out fully and factually.
  • All applicants must reside in the state of Minnesota or its bordering states, unless a special exception has been made. Please email us at info@ruffstartrescue.org if you would like to discuss the potential for an out of state adoption.
  • Consider how you’ll manage an isolation period and be sure all existing pets are up-to-date on vaccinations and other routine health care before bringing a new pet home. An isolation period would be good for allowing that animal to settle in and learn the routine.
  • Please be aware of any rental/association or homeowners’ insurance restrictions you may have before applying. Such limits may include breed restrictions, number of pets allowed, weight requirements, etc.
  • All adopted animals must live indoors with their families and always be monitored closely when outdoors for their safety (with the exception of working cats).
  • We do not allow any medically-unnecessary surgical procedures, such as declawing; defanging; debarking; or cropping/docking (of tails or ears) to be conducted on any animal adopted from our rescue.
