The Story of Anne Bonney

On Monday night, as we were closing our doors, a woman rushed in holding a tiny kitten so sick we couldn’t even see her eyes. Where sight should have been, there was only swollen, bright red tissue. She was barely 1.6 pounds, weak, sneezing, and burning with infection. And yet, the moment she was touched, she purred.
Because of supporters like you, this little fighter, now named Anne Bonney, finally found help.
Found alone on a gravel road in Milaca, her finder had exhausted every resource they could think of to get her help, but she still urgently needed care. By the time she reached us, her eyes were so severely infected that we still cannot be sure they can be saved. Even if they are, she may never see.
But Anne Bonney does not seem to know she is sick.
She climbs onto her foster’s shoulder like the fearless pirate she is named for, purring nonstop and soaking up every bit of love. She refuses to give up, and that resilience is exactly why your support matters.
