The Story of the Princeton Puppies

16 puppies, 2 mamas, and a family in desperate need of help.
A local family is facing an urgent and heartbreaking situation. Their beloved mother and daughter shepherd/husky pair each had a litter, resulting in 16 adorable puppies now 6 weeks old.
Unfortunately, this family is also being evicted from their home and needs to find loving homes for the puppies as quickly as possible. When we learned of their plight, we immediately sprang into action—reaching out to our foster network and providing food, puppy pads, and supplies to help the family until we could offer more support.
We are so glad this family knew they could turn to us for help. It’s part of our mission to support both the people and pets in our community, doing everything we can to make sure animals get the care they need, and families can keep their pets safe.
Ruff Start Rescue has committed to taking in 13 of the puppies, who will begin arriving in waves today, tomorrow, and next week. We’ve also reached out to another rescue who will care for the remaining 3. The mama dogs are deeply cherished by their family, and we hope to assist them by providing spaying services, ensuring this doesn’t happen again in the future.
These sweet puppies will need comprehensive veterinary services while they’re in our care—spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchips, and more. The total estimated cost for their care and supplies is $350 per pup, adding up to a significant $4,550 for the entire group.
