Sir Boops-A-Lot had no way of knowing that the people he loved would betray him.
One moment, he was in a car, eager for whatever adventure lay ahead. The next, he was shoved out onto the pavement—confused, scared, and watching as the vehicle sped away, leaving him behind like he was nothing.
Strangers gathered, concerned for the little dog left all alone. Voices called to him, hands reached out—but Sir Boops-A-Lot didn’t know who to trust. His body was weak from hunger, his fur dirty and patchy, his ribs pressing against the worn fabric of the sweater he still wore—a small reminder that he once belonged to someone. But love had abandoned him, and he wasn’t sure if it would ever find him again.
Then, he saw her. A young girl stood among the strangers, gentle and patient. And in that moment, something in Sir Boops-A-Lot’s heart told him it was okay. Slowly, hesitantly, he stepped toward her—the only person he felt safe enough to approach.
With a purse strap as a makeshift leash, the girl and her mother led him to safety, bringing him to animal control, where he would finally get the help he so desperately needed.
Sir Boops was reunited with his finder this morning, who is now a loving Ruff Start Rescue foster home. They will care for him until he finds his new family. He is finally safe—but he has a long road ahead. He needs veterinary care to heal his skin and aching body. He needs nourishing food to help him gain strength. He needs a professional grooming to ease his discomfort. Most of all, he needs a family who will love him.
Even after all he’s endured, Sir Boops-A-Lot is still the sweetest boy—kissing everyone he meets, wagging his tail with hope in his heart. He’s perfect with kids, dogs, and even cats. He’s house-trained, gentle, and full of love. He has every reason to give up on people—but he hasn’t.
