Update: Granola has found a foster and will be joining Ruff Start Rescue!

Members of our intake team had the pleasure of spending time with Granola at a local impound today, and to say they loved him would be an understatement. We want this boy to join Ruff Start Rescue!
Granola is a middle-aged spaniel/lab mix who is around 6 years old. He was found as a stray and only weighs 29 pounds when he should be closer to 40. His posture, splayed feet, and overgrown nails indicate that he was likely kenneled for much of his life, but despite this, he is loving and gentle. We think he’d be great with kids, as he did terrific meeting another playful dog. He was also interested in the cat room but backed off when he realized it was not his space. We recommend slow intros on a leash to cats, but ultimately think he’d be okay with them.
Once Granola joins Ruff Start, he’ll visit our veterinary team for a routine visit, including a neuter if needed. Donate today to help cover his time in our care and the expenses of the hundreds of other local impound animals expected to join the rescue this year.
